Age-appropriate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu built around games, positional training and real technique — structured so kids are challenged, not overwhelmed.
Kids BJJ runs its own curriculum, genuinely different from the adult program: BJJ-based games to keep it fun and engaging, positional training, and age-appropriate submissions — all building discipline, confidence, coordination and respect along the way.

Kids BJJ is for ages 5–12. A parent or guardian needs to attend the first class in person to sign a minor in.
Parents are welcome to watch every session from the mats — just not to coach or call out instructions from the sidelines, so kids can focus on their coach.
Aydin runs the BJJ program at AFA, kids included — a BJJ black belt with 17+ years in the sport, bringing the same real technique to the kids curriculum as the adult program, just built the right way for younger students.
Read Aydin's Full ProfileBJJ suits kids especially well because it's grappling-based rather than striking-based — contact is controlled and technical, not about landing hits. It teaches patience, problem-solving under pressure, and genuine respect for training partners, alongside real self-defence fundamentals.
Based in Liverpool NSW, with families regularly travelling in from Casula, Moorebank, Chipping Norton, Prestons, Warwick Farm, Cabramatta, Fairfield, Hoxton Park, Edmondson Park and as far as Mount Druitt.
Older kids who outgrow the Kids BJJ program can transition into the adult BJJ classes when the time's right.
